------------------sharing is caring---------------------
Hi all,
I just want to share the following story with you which happened to me yesterday evening when I was on my way home.
As usual, after I exited from MEX, I took a 3 o’clock turn at the Jln Tun Razak/Jln Kg Pandan/Jln Imbi roundabout towards Kg Pandan. It was a little traffic jam when I approached the 2nd traffic lights after the school on my left that have caused me to stop. Then I heard someone banged me from behind on the left. I saw an Indian motorcyclist in his 30’s riding on his motorbike moving slowly and very closely to the left side of my car. He stopped and ordered me to get off my car. He claimed that I have damaged his motorbike. When traffic lights turned green, I sped from the scene but he rode faster than I did and stopped in front of my car. I have no choice but to put on my double signal and stopped right in the middle of the busy road. He got so mad that I refused to get off my car by kicking my car, pulling the rear mirrors, used his helmet and hands to bang my front mirror and side windows. Passerby (cars and motorcyclists) were too busy to stop and I was so helpless and scared. I suddenly remember to take his picture from my mobile phone and I took 3 pictures but turned out to be not clear because my hands were shaking! I then asked what he is after. He said pay him RM100. He saw me taking out my purse and start to demand for RM150. In the midst of negotiation, another motorcyclist stopped to find out what happen. He told him that I knocked him! When the two of them were talking, I threw out RM50 from my window (which was opened enough for one piece of notes to go through) while the passerby told me to flee.
I manage to flee from the scene at last and drove to the Police Station straight away. Lodged a police report and managed to get some advises if encounter similar cases in the future:-
- Unceasingly pressing your “car horn” to attract passerby.
- Never open your door or window.
- Never come out from the car.
- Never put your laptop or handbag on the passenger seat beside you.
- Call “999” for help.
- Alternative number to call is 03-42524866 (Gerakan).
- Write down/record down somewhere the car plate/motorcycle plate number.
- If possible, record down what is being said by the road bully.
- Take pictures of the road bully and his transport.
I have heard and read so much about road bullies and finally it happened to me. It is so real! Hopefully my sharing will be benefited to all so that we will be more alert and careful when driving on the road.
